CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

(CPD) FOR REIKI

CPD REQUIREMENTS FOR REIKI

Professionals in most industries are required to take part in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Reiki practitioners should be no exception to this. Regulatory bodies such as CNHC ask for specific CPD hours. Currently the recommendations for Reiki are:

Each Reiki Practitioner should undertake a minimum of 12 hours of CPD per year. A minimum of 6 hours should be specific to Reiki. A maximum of 6 hours may be general, including reflection or research.

  • If you complete more than 12 hours of Reiki Specific CPD in the year, you may carry over up to 6 hours of the surplus to the following year.
  • General CPD cannot be carried over.
  • Note: Giving Reiki to Clients or Teaching Students does not count as CPD.

CPD should not be seen as a chore. It is part of professional self-development. CPD enables maintenance and building on skills and knowledge.

If you are a member of the UK Reiki Federation wishing to renew your membership you will have to provide proof of CPD. You can download our CPD info and record sheet here.
