Our Reiki training is rooted in the traditional Usui system and combines personal development, experiential practice and a clear pathway for students wishing to progress from introductory Reiki training towards professional practice and, subsequently, Master/Teacher level.
Training places particular emphasis on Reiki as a system of personal practice and development, alongside the practical skills required to offer Reiki safely, ethically and professionally to others. Students are encouraged to develop their practice progressively through self-treatment, treatment of others, reflective practice, meditation and continued engagement with the principles and practices of Reiki.

Courses include:
Reiki Level I – Shoden
An introduction to the system of Reiki, including its history and foundations, the Reiki principles (Gokai), self-practice, meditation, practical Reiki techniques and giving Reiki to others. 4 attunements

Reiki Level II – Okuden
Further development of Reiki practice, including the traditional symbols and associated practices, deeper personal practice, treatment of others and consideration of ethical and professional practice. 2 attunements.

Reiki Level III – Shinpiden / Master Training
Advanced study for experienced Reiki practitioners wishing to deepen their personal practice and understanding of the system of Reiki. The programme explores Master-level teachings and practices and provides a foundation for those who may subsequently wish to develop as Reiki teachers. 1 attunement

HEART Institute also supports students who wish to develop Reiki within a professional practitioner pathway. Additional learning opportunities include supervised practice, reflective development, professional and ethical practice, anatomy and physiology, communication, practitioner development and continuing professional development.
Our approach recognises Reiki as a complementary and integrative practice. Training therefore emphasises appropriate professional boundaries, informed consent, safeguarding, confidentiality, recognition of limitations and responsible integration alongside — rather than as a replacement for — conventional healthcare.
Tiago brings together experience in Reiki, nursing, healthcare education, Traditional Chinese Medicine, complementary healthcare and university-level teaching. This interdisciplinary background informs a teaching approach that is structured, reflective and attentive to professional standards while respecting the traditional foundations of Reiki.
