Margaret Coats, Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
Margaret Coats has been Chief Executive and Registrar of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) since 2011. CNHC is the UK’s voluntary regulator of complementary healthcare practitioners and hold an Accredited Register of therapists approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), a body accountable to the UK Parliament. CNHC sole purpose is to protect the public.
Her previous roles included CEO at the General Chiropractic Council, CEO of the Occupational Standards Council for Health and Social Care and Head of the NHS Open Learning Unit.
Margaret passionately believes in the role that complementary healthcare can play in supporting the public’s health and wellbeing, and that by raising standards in the sector we can achieve greater recognition and acceptance by mainstream medicine.
