Reiki for You and Your Animals
So what is Reiki? It is a Japanese energy healing practice developed by Mikao Usui. Its a non-evasive, light/touch therapy that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and wellbeing.
I became fascinated with Reiki and after having treatments myself, I studied with Reiki Master Torstein Lange and became a Master for People in 2014. Since then I have become fascinated by the energy and bond between people and animals and how how/their behaviour is affected, so having become a member of the UK Reiki Federation I went on to study to Masters Animal Reiki and am registered with the UK Reiki Federation for Animal Reiki too.
Animal Reiki is a gentle energy therapy that can be completed at distance or next to/with the animal, to support it’s emotional, physical and energetic wellbeing. It requires specialised training and sensitivity. Reiki is completely safe for animals – but does not replace – veterinary care.
A lovely treatment is to have Reiki with your pet and strengthen your bond and understanding while offering relaxation to both.
Treatments can be hands on or hands off, depending on their preference. They can be in person or remotely – both are equally effective. Or a session can take place at home, in a stable, kennels or anywhere they feel safe and at ease.
Many animals visibly relax during a session, lying down, stretching, sighing, or even falling asleep.
Sessions typically last 30-60 minutes but may be longer, This includes time to talk to you before and after about your animal/pet and their needs.
Reiki may be experienced in people as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all. It is believed that animals feel the same.
