News from our Verifying Organisations and Stakeholders

The Shiatsu Society UK, a professional association for Shiatsu who act one of CNHC’s Verifying Organisations, are launching their first ever digital Advent Calendar to spread the joy of this wonderful practice.

During the first 24 days of December, you’ll receive a special nugget of wisdom from one of their community members. Open the Advent Calendar door each day and follow the guidelines for a chance to win three bundles of lovely prizes from the Shiatsu Society and their partners.

Follow them on Instagram @shiatsusociety and on Facebook @shiatsusociety(UK) to find out more.

Increase in CNHC registration and renewal fees

With effect from 1 January 2025 the CNHC initial registration fee and annual renewal fee will increase by £5 to £75. Anyone completing their registration or renewal up to midnight on 31 December 2024 will be able to register at the current rate of £70.

This is the first increase since 2019 as we held our fees to support registrants during the COVID-19 pandemic and the cost of living crisis that followed.

The fee for registration of additional disciplines will remain unchanged at £10 per discipline (to a maximum of four, after which it is free) and the fee for renewal of additional disciplines will remain unchanged at £5 per discipline (to a maximum of four, after which it is free).

Please note that you can only renew your registration one month in advance. For example, if your registration is due for renewal on 1 March 2025 you can renew from 1 February 2025.

Advertising guidance for CNHC registrants

All CNHC registrants must comply with the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Non-Broadcast Code.

To help our registrants with compliance we have produced guidance on advertising. Please read it in full and use it as a resource to check the content of your website and other forms of marketing. We recommend that all CNHC registrants use the wording for their discipline that we have agreed with CAP. The discipline descriptors can be found here.

Please read the guidance in full and use it as a resource to check the content of your website and other forms of marketing.

We have produced specific guidance about advertising in relation to the Cancer Act 1939 which you should also read carefully.

New on our website: Witness Guide

We have recently published a guide for witnesses at hearings of the CNHC Conduct and Competence Panel and Health Panel.
