CNHC SEPTEMBER 2025 UPDATE
Vacancy for a Chief Executive at CNHC
Following the announcement of Margaret Coats taking retirement, we are seeking an energetic, creative, forward-thinking leader with proven experience in the regulation sector, particularly in the Accredited Register field.
As the Chief Executive, you will be joining CNHC at an exciting time, steering our organisation towards growth and sustainability while championing our mission to promote confidence and strengthen public trust in complementary healthcare.
Please share your feedback about CNHC: Annual registrant survey
We have sent all our registrants a link to our survey. CNHC is keen to hear your views and experience of being a registrant. The survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete, and we would really appreciate it if you could take the time to give us your valuable feedback. We will use the results, in aggregate, to evaluate how we are performing and identify any improvements we could make.
If you’ve not received the email or would like the link to be sent to you again, please email info@cnhc.org.uk and we will send it to you.
How CNHC deals with complaints: Update on Adjunctive therapies
CNHC’s register of complementary healthcare practitioners is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA). The PSA requires us to accept and investigate complaints about adjunctive therapies practised by CNHC registrants. We have made clear to the PSA that if the CNHC registrant is also on another relevant Accredited Register we will explain to the complainant they should contact that Accredited Register.
We have written to all our registrants to let them know that we have updated our information on how we deal with complaints against CNHC registrants to include this information.
By ‘adjunctive therapies’ we mean:
- therapies that are not included in the 18 therapies we register, or
- in the case of multi-disciplinary registrants, one for which they are not CNHC registered. For example, a registrant who practises Aromatherapy and Reflexology, but is CNHC registered for Aromatherapy only.
All complaints are dealt with in accordance with our detailed procedures for dealing with complaints.
News from the Professional Standards Authority

Update to therapy descriptors
The descriptors are the wording agreed with the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) for each of the professions on our Register that can be used by CNHC Registrants in their advertising.
