Sustainable Healthcare Group Update
By Sharon Penny
The Sustainable Healthcare Group continues to explore opportunities to bring Reiki into a wider range of community and healthcare settings.
Our group is currently made up of five dedicated volunteers: Paula, Nicola, Bernice, Natalie and myself. Together, we share a common goal of increasing awareness and access to Reiki within GP surgeries, nursing homes, schools and hospitals.
We are pleased that members of the group are already helping to support Reiki initiatives in a variety of settings. Currently, two members are working within hospitals, including St George’s Hospital in London and Queen’s Hospital, while two others are involved in school-based projects, supporting both teachers and children.
As we continue to develop this work, we are always keen to hear from UKRF members who share our passion for expanding access to Reiki and who feel they could contribute their skills, experience or enthusiasm to the group.
The Sustainable Healthcare Group meets online via Zoom approximately four to six times a year, depending on members’ availability. Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday 21st July at 7.00pm.
