I was introduced to Reiki by my GP in 2003. After a very real dream that night I realised that I needed to learn more (Reiki is so often something that calls you rather than you actively going out and finding it). In 2004 I joined a 1st degree group that my Reiki Master, Robert France, was teaching. From that day forwards I knew that I had made a connection with Reiki and I know I will have this universal energy with me always.
I swiftly continued my training with Reiki 2nd and 3rd degree. Successful completion of the Reiki Master Practitioner and Master Teacher course in early 2005 led me onto a Karuna Reiki Master Practitioner and Master Teacher course in late 2005.
I am now a CNHC registered Usui Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. My courses are approved by the UK Reiki Federation and listed on the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council website. I am passionate about Reiki and truly believe in the positive impact it has upon those who find it.
As the Education Coordinator for the UK Reiki Federation I approve practitioner training and courses for inclusion in the CNHC and UK Reiki Federation approved course list. My desire is to reach and maintain a balance between those who wish to deliver Reiki courses that follow the Core Curriculum for Reiki and National Occupational Standards for Reiki alongside those who wish to continue delivering Reiki in the traditional manner.
My ‘day’ job is that of a Senior Assessment Associate for one of the largest examination and awarding organisations in the world. My daily tasks may include writing examination papers, managing teams of examiners, endorsing textbooks, visiting international centres to verify assessment or approving centres to deliver vocational qualifications.
I have been a member of the UK Reiki Federation since 2004 working as an Area Representative for both Cornwall and then Dorset. I started working with individuals affected by HIV in 2005 and I was a Reiki Pioneer for HIV and AIDS for several years. I started serving on the Management Committee in 2008. Initially as a member, then as Vice Chair. I became Chair in April 2016.
