RRWG withdraws from Federal Group

Following a meeting in November 07, The RRWG has now formally withdrawn from the Federal Working Group (now known as the Natural Healthcare Council) set up by the Princes Trust for Integrated Health. The Group is considering its options and the way forward in January 2008.

Concerns over regulatory structure proposed by Princes Trust (Oct 2007)

During 2007 the RRWG has been part of a group looking at a federal (ie multi-therapy) approach to self-regulation. This has been called the Federal Working Group and is held under the auspices of the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health. The RRWG was excluded from the September and October meetings and therefore unable to input its views directly at this key time. The Working Group has issued a Progress Report. The RRWG has a number of concerns with what is being proposed and following an emergency meeting, has sent a letter detailing these to the Prince's Trust and to the working group. It was agreed that these concerns should be posted on the website in the interests of transparency.

Update and comment on the ongoing work of the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health Federal Working Group from the Lay Chair

Much has already been achieved and agreed through the hard work of the group. Many issues have been extensively considered but not yet fully agreed upon and a few general concerns have come to light which have also been discussed and are under ongoing consideration. Overall, I think there would be consensus amongst the group that through a concerted effort and the professional approach of the members, the work of the group is proceeding well. [more...]

They form the first step in the consultation process with Reiki practitioners, Reiki teachers and other interested parties on the future self-regulation of Reiki and the establishment of a single voluntary register of professional Reiki practitioners.
