Draft Consultation Documents

The following Draft Discussion Documents have been prepared by the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG). They form the first step in the consultation process with Reiki practitioners, Reiki teachers and other interested parties on the future self-regulation of Reiki and the establishment of a single voluntary register of professional Reiki practitioners.

The deadline for consultation feedback passed on the 31st December 2006. We would like to thank all those who attended the roadshows and who have submitted feedback to our Consultation process. Forms are currently being analysed and we would hope to have information available on this by end of July.

RRWG Discussion Papers

Copies of the documents can be downloaded from this website (ideally), or ordered by post.

Reiki National Occupational Standards

Reiki National Occupational Standards were developed through a process of discussion and consultation and are based on agreed good practice.

The Reiki NOS set out the workplace activities in which Reiki practitioners may be involved. They identify the performance criteria i.e. what practitioners must be able to do and the essential underpinning knowledge and understanding i.e. what practitioners must know.

You can download the following NOS titles by simply clicking on the text to open a printable word document. (The file size in brackets gives you some idea of how long the documents may take to download, according to the speed of your connection.)

  1. Reiki-Qualification Structure [PDF, 36kb]
  2. Specifications of Knowledge and Understanding [PDF, 31kb]
  3. Reiki NOS documents [PDF, 170kb] - only the Reiki specific units are published at this time. Skills for Health anticipate the generic units- HSC32, HSC234, AHP10.1, AHP10.2, PA7.2- will be updated shortly.

Help with reading PDF documents

There are many PDF readers out there, and operating systems such as Mac OS X and Linux generally incorporate a reader as standard. However, under some other older or less well-equipped operating systems, you will have to install one. The most commonly used is Adobe's Acrobat Reader. This is FREE and is available on the cover CDs supplied with most computer magazines. It may also be downloaded from the Adobe website by clicking on this icon:

get Acrobat Reader

Note that, especially if you are on a network, you may have to ask your system administrator to install this software for you!
