Reiki Awareness Week - June 2009
Report on some of the events
We would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make Reiki Awareness Week (RAW) so successful, and for the various monies raised for a wide range of charities.
Aberdeen
Three events were held for RAW, in Turriff, Inverurie and Aberdeen.
Essex
During RAW Reiki Tasters were held by members around the county.
Fife, Falkirk
UKRF area representative, Linda Cowan, produced a word search which was used for fund raising during RAW.
A team of 30 Reiki practitioners, both UKRF members and non-members, gave Reiki tasters and were able to raise the magnificent sum of £1,921.18 for Dunfermline’s Lynebank Hospital to be shared by wards 1, 2 and 12. Well done to them all.
Lincolnshire
Wendy Liles, UKRF area representative, held a Garden Party in Lincoln, raising £342 for St Barnabas Hospices.
London SW, E, W and Central
UKRF area representative, Michelle Kurth advised that the main event for RAW was held at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital raising £230 for the hospital charity. Further report will be on the charity website.
A smaller event was held in Balham raising £35 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Lothian (Mid & East), Edinburgh, Borders
Lorraine Murray, UKRF area representative, raised the sum of £290 in just over 2 hours at a Reiki tasting event in aid of the Scottish Women’s Aid (helping to stop domestic abuse).
Perth
Lyn Haworth, UKRF area representative, held yet another successful Reiki Awareness Week raising £302.50 for the Wormit Hedgehog Care Centre.
Wiltshire
During Reiki Awareness Week Anne Tottingham, UKRF area representative and fellow practitioners, gave tasters and information about Reiki at Edington village fete. Other successful events were held in Marlborough.
