Reiki Therapist
Working in the Directorate of Oncology, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
Part time – 7 hours per week over two half days.
Wallace Cancer Care is a registered charity providing information and support for cancer patients, their families and carers. It has strong links with Addenbrooke’s Hospital and runs a Drop-In Centre in the Concourse Area of the Hospital and a Complementary Care Centre nearby at Red Cross Lane, Cambridge.
The Reiki Practitioner will be employed by Wallace Cancer Care for two half days a week to work closely with the nursing and medical teams in support of patients on the Oncology Wards in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, and we are seeking a highly motivated Reiki Practitioner to provide holistic care to patients with diseases such as leukaemia, lymphoma, solid tumours and patients undergoing intensive bone marrow transplants.
The successful candidate will hold a Reiki Master/Teacher Certificate via the Usui system, or evidence of completing the Guild of Professional Healers’ training course on delivering Reiki and Healing in the NHS, and have two years’ post certificate patient experience. You will need to be a team player who would relish working in such an acute and psychologically demanding environment. You will be required to have appropriate memberships of professional bodies in your discipline.
