Conference - The Science and Art of Healing: Understanding the Therapeutic Response
A joint conference with the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal
College
of General Practitioners and The Prince's Foundation for Integrated
Health.
Date: Thursday 13 September 2007
Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Venue: Royal College of Physicians, London.
The vast burden of disease management within the NHS relates to chronic
illness. From the information available, one of our most effective
interventions for these conditions may be the process of care rather
than
any specific pharmaceutical agent.
Starting from the patient's perspective, this conference will examine
that
process with a view to making us more effective through being more
patient-centred. It will also seek to develop our understanding of how
we
should perceive, manage and investigate the specific and non-specific
responses to treatment.
