Awards for Good Practice in Integrated Healthcare 2005
With 1 in 5 of the UK population now seeking to combine the best of complementary and conventional healthcare, it is increasingly essential that people have access to well-regulated, properly qualified complementary practitioners.
A key objective of The Prince of Wales’s Foundation for Integrated Health is to encourage and publicise examples of innovative, inspiring integrated healthcare projects across the country. The fourth biennial awards will be held in 2005 and the Foundation is now inviting healthcare practitioners to apply – an opportunity to demonstrate excellence and best-practice, and to be publicaly recognised. A prize of £5,000 will be awarded to the best example of a progressive healthcare project that provides integrated services for patients.
Previous award winners have included:
- Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. A Maternity Acupuncture Service;
- Blackthorn Clinic, Maidstone, Kent. An NHS general practice and clinic that uses an anthroposophical approach to treatment and which includes music, art and eurythmy treatments;
- The Gateway Clinic. A traditional Chinese Medicine clinic treating general health problems, immune-deficiency and mental health problems at Lambeth Hospital PCT;
- Christie Hospital Manchester. A massage and aromatherapy centre for patients suffering from cancer.
