The UK Reiki Federation
MARATHON WITH A DIFFERENCE!
We don't run for charity but we DO help improve people's lives
We don't walk for charity but we DO 'go the distance' when it comes to showing people how Reiki can give them vibrant health
We don't have celebrities supporting our efforts but we DO know some who have benefited from Reiki (including members of the House of Commons)
REIKI AWARENESS WEEK
8-16 May 2004
DID YOU KNOW:
- That Reiki is now practised in GP’s surgeries, hospitals, palliative care, hospices, addiction centres, as well as in private health centres?
- That there are now over 1,000,000 Reiki practitioners worldwide?
- That animals too can benefit from this gentle healing therapy? Reiki is used to treat race horses and other animals.
During Reiki Awareness Week Reiki practitioners will be offering free, donations to charity and 'taster' treatments in many different locations around the country.
In 2002 several members of the UK Reiki Federation went to the House of Commons in London where Members of Parliament had been invited to receive free treatments. This proved to be a great success.
In 2003 Reiki practitioners gave ‘taster treatments’ in a variety of locations such as shopping centres, supermarkets, garden centres, County fairs etc which were really well supported. We were also interviewed on several radio stations.
In 2004 hundreds of our members all over the country will again be giving their Reiki treatments to the public, from daily sessions at a department store in Kent - donations to the Pilgrims Hospice, Reiki Marathons throughout the week at venues in Hampshire, to customers in some of the High Street stores in Suffolk, non-stop sessions in a Parish Hall in Wiltshire with all proceeds for the local fund, free treatments in Luton, an all-day session in SW London, donations to the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney - and everywhere in between!
The Reiki Regulatory Working Group is a UK Reiki Federation-led initiative set up by representatives of the UKRF and other Reiki organisations in collaboration with the Prince of Wales' Foundation for Integrated Health (FIH). The RRWG provides a forum for the exchange of views, concerns, standards and best practice with the intention of 'speaking with one voice' in working towards Voluntary Self-Regulation (VSR) and the creation of the single UK Register of Professional Practitioners.
