International Reiki Day

To celebrate Dr. Usui's birthday and raise the public awareness of Reiki, the UK Reiki Federation and various Reiki organisations around the world held an International Reiki Day on the 15th August. We asked every Reiki practitioner to do something for their community using Reiki.

We had a lovely gathering on Saturday the 12th August 2000 to celebrate Usui's birthday. We had a candle burning with a Chinese poem on it that basically talked about meditation and peaceful study. We thought this was very appropriate for the day. Actually it was given to me by a friend, who didn't know the inscription, but fortunately a Chinese lady from Hong Kong came, and told us the meaning.
We meditated, and many of us, heard the word peace being said over and over again. It was very moving.
We (22 of us) shared Reiki Mawashi, (Reiki in a circle), and had a wonderful time of laughter and togetherness. Thankyou UK Reiki Federation for the reminder of Usui's birthday.
