The UK Reiki Federation has worked extensively over the last 10 years on the promotion of best practice within the field of Reiki, with a view to improving the acceptance of Reiki as a viable tool to be used within the NHS. The UK Reiki Federation has been pleased to have worked with the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health, in its various forms, over this period of time and has been very much involved with the work of the Reiki Council, formerly the Reiki Regulatory Working Group. UK Reiki Federation representatives have been continuously involved with the various groups which have been working on revised standards for training of professional practitioners, over many years.
Following consultation in 2007/2008, a revision of the National Occupational Standards for Complementary and Natural Healthcare was carried out, and in 2009 the finally approved standards were published. In addition the Reiki Council has developed a Core Curriculum for Reiki, which has been produced for teachers to use alongside the National Occupational Standards for Reiki.
