The UK Reiki Federation - Education
Core Curriculum
A Core Curriculum for Reiki, which is designed to be used alongside the National Occupational Standards for Reiki, has been developed by the Reiki Council.
The full content of the Curriculum is given in the Reiki Council Resource Handbook, which is currently being reprinted. The Resource Handbook may be purchased direct from the Reiki Council, or from the UK Reiki Federation, if you are a UK Reiki Federation member. E-copy is also available from the Reiki Council: www.reikicouncil.org.uk
In order to encompass all styles and/or systems of Reiki, 'Professional Practice' is not set at a particular level or degree of training but is based on:
- Minimum of first Reiki level/degree
- Attuned/initiated person to person with a Reiki master
- Experience of giving treatments
- Meeting the requirements of the National Occupational Standards
- A commitment to ongoing personal practice by the practitioner.
The aim of the Core Curriculum is to provide a framework on which courses may be developed and should always be read alongside the National Occupational Standards for Reiki.
It is important to note that neither the Core Curriculum nor the National Occupational Standards refer to any one level of Reiki nor any particular style. The requirements of both are that a minimum standard is reached and it is acknowledged that many teachers will teach above that standard.
