The UK Reiki Federation - Resources for Members

Regulations and Guidelines

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the regulations with which you may have to comply in order to practice of teach Reiki - the situations of our members are far too varied for us to be able to provide information regarding everything from building regulations to health and safety to VAT.

We shall be posting links and signposts here to documents issued by The UK Reiki Federation, or third party documents which have come to our attention relating to changes which are clearly of particular relevance to a large number of members. (Important legislative changes etc will also continue to be highlighted on the Members' Noticeboard.)

If you should come across a document or reliable website that you think will be of particular interest to other members in this context, do please let us know.

We require that all practitioner and teacher members members are covered by an appropriate therapists' insurance policy. We recommend the group policy offered by Balens - please see:

A large amount of work has been done by the UK Reiki Federation with regards to recommended educational standards within Reiki training. For documents relating to this, including our current Guidelines for Reiki Training, please see:

Other selected requirements, regulations and legislation

Under Construction

This resource is in its early development - we anticipate that it will grow as VSR takes shape. Please do let us know if you are aware of further documents that might be of particular interest to a significant proportion of practitioner and teacher members.

  • Vetting and Barring Scheme - an information sheet on the implications of The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill, which received Royal Assent in Nov 2006.
