A Core Curriculum provides a framework on which to develop courses, and should always be read alongside the NOS (National Occupational Standards).
The purpose of a Core Curriculum is to provide a framework on which courses may be developed by teachers and should always be read alongside the National Occupational Standards (NOS).
The NOS and the Core Curriculum refer to competence, not to any one level or style of Reiki. It is a requirement that a minimum standard of training is received by the practitioner, although many teachers will teach above that standard. The minimum time for training is 9 months.
The Reiki Council has produced a Core Curriculum and UK Reiki Federation members may, if they wish, view a summary of requirements on the Teaching Guidelines (members only) page. However it should be noted that the CNHC (Council for Natural & Complementary Healthcare) no longer use the Reiki Council's Core Curriculum for Regulatory purposes and a new Core Curriculum will be published by CNHC in due course.
